The third studio album by actor and musician Joe Keery under his alias Djo, The Crux is the follow-up to his 2022 album Decide which featured Djo's breakthrough hit "End of Beginning." Keery co-produced The Crux with Adam Thein and recorded it at Electric Lady Studios in New York City.

Lead single 'Basic Being Basic' is already a red-hot song of the year contender. It's a two-and-a-half-minute bite of Oberheim OB-X8-fueled, synth-pop splendor. Seriously, Keery's falsetto pitch shifts are pure technicolor.
