Pressed at Third Man in Detroit!

Tracking Angle Rated 9/10 Music, 7/10 Sonics!

This 1967 set, recorded live at Boston's Jazz Workshop, showcases virtuoso guitarist Szabo - a veteran of Chico Hamilton's and Charles Lloyd's bands - at the top of his game on a diverse program featuring standards ("What Is This Thing Called Love") and pop hits ("The Beat Goes On") as well as the original and psychedelic-tinged jam, "Space." Verve By Request Series features 180-gram vinyl, pressed at Third Man in Detroit.

My chief complaint is that the album is too short (8 songs)! With all of my grousing and griping about live music, I find myself wanting more after this performance. I may have been dragged along to see the show, but - once the lights came up - I didn't want to leave.
-Evan Toth, Tracking Angle, Tracking Angle, Music 9/10, Sound 7/10
