Foxtrot, released in 1972, is considered a classic in progressive rock and an extension piece to it's predecessor from the year before, Nursery Cryme. By choosing another strong anthem to open the album in Watcher Of The Skies, with it's building Mellotron lead-In, it was also the perfect song to open the shows during their U.S. club tour that quickly followed the albums release. Side B features the typical of the times and overly ambitious seven-part epic Supper's Ready, clocking in at just over twenty-two minutes. With Peter Gabriel now firmly established as a riveting front man on lead vocals, very strong playing contributed by the same lineup found on Nursery Cryme with Mike Rutherford, Phil Collins, Steve Hackett and Tony Banks.
