180g Vinyl Reissue! Half Speed Mastered & Pressed at Pallas in Germany!
Wind & Wuthering is the eighth studio album from the English rock band Genesis, released in December 1976 on Charisma Records. The album was recorded after the commercial and critical success of A Trick of the Tail and its supporting tour. In contrast to the somewhat softer and more acoustic A Trick of the Tail album, this late 1976 album is a lot moodier and features more in the way of instrumental pieces.
The tracks on the album include some classic Genesis compositions such as Eleventh Earl of Mar and One for the Vine as well as several instrumentals that feature the band's unique interpretation of American jazz-rock fusion. The second album with Phil Collins at the helm, this was the last album with Steve Hackett; Genesis would become a trio after this recording.
Genesis have always been known for their sense of spectacle and their groundbreaking live shows, as much as their ambitious studio albums like the evergreen Nursery Cryme, Foxtrot, Selling England By The Pound, and The Lamb Lies Down on Broadway. Over the last four decades, the group has sold 150 million albums worldwide and has influenced the likes of Elbow, The Flaming Lips, and Jeff Buckley.
