Grammy-Winning Folk Duo's 2024 Album on Vinyl LP!
10 New Songs Mixing Full Band Tracks with Intricate Duets!
Mastered Directly from the Original Tapes!

2025 Grammy® Award Nominee:
• Best Americana Performance: "Empty Trainload of Sky"
• Best Folk Album: Woodland

Acony Records is proud to present Woodland, the 2024 album by the preeminent songwriting team of Gillian Welch and David Rawlings. Following up their homespun GRAMMY-winning release All the Good Times, this ambitious 10 song album mingles full band tracks with intricate duet performances all tied together with the duo's signature sound and remarkable lyricism.

Woodland was recorded in Nashville, Tennessee at Welch and Rawlings' own Woodland Sound Studio (newly rebuilt after the 2020 tornado) and cements the duo's iconoclastic position at the forefront of acoustic music.

Mastered directly from the original tapes through custom Ortofon amplifiers to a Neumann VMS-80 cutting system. Produced by David Rawlings.

Here, the shared billing highlights the way that Welch and Rawlings are intertwined throughout Woodland, acting as one as they sing harmonies and trade leads. The way the pair weave their voices is one of the reasons Woodland doesn't sound nearly as spartan as albums like 2011's The Harrow & the Harvest. There's a palpable warmth to their interplay that extends to the recording itself.
-Stephen Thomas Erlewine, Pitchfork
Entering Woodland is to embark on a journey through a sonically spacious soundscape filled with sparkling, spare guitar fingerpicking, transportive string arrangements, layered lyrics, and exalted harmonies.
-Folk Alley
Welch and Rawlings have a way with words that seems to reanimate them for a new age. With a musical bed that features little more than the sounds of two guitars, they weave a spell that intoxicates.
-For Folk's Sake
