With: Claudio Arrau, Pierre Fournier, Ingrid Haebler, Wilhelm Kempff, Charles Reiner, Janos Starker, Academy of St. Martin-in-the-Fields, London Symphony Orchestra, Royal Concertgebouw Orchestra, Sir Alexander Gibson, Antal Dorati, Bernard Haitink, Rafael Kubelik, Sir Neville Marriner and many more.
Szeryng's playing resembled Nathan Milstein's in its consistency, suave delivery, full tone, warmth of feeling, intelligent phrasing and lack of anything resembling coarseness. He was the consummate musician and there's hardly a performance here that doesn't repay close scrutiny a hundred times over.
Real music lovers want emotion - great moments - which Szeryng's playing gives them.
