An imposing figure at 6'5', Howlin' Wolf had the ability to simultaneously rock the house and scare the patrons. The Real Folk Blues is an anthology of sides cut by Howlin' Wolf for Chess between 1956-1963. Wolf fused the primitive energy of traditional country blues artists with the over-amped explosiveness of the modern electric blues.
