Recording a Jazz Big Band is an experience not easy to tell. Everything gets more complicated then they pretend (as I wanted to do well in this occasion) to take possession of the interpretation of the soul, to seek not only stamps, colors and size of the orchestra, but also the tap of the finger that pushes the buttons of the trumpet, the sound of skins affected by the rods, the movement of air moved by the clarinet in route to the solo all in a perfect acoustic enclosure: the Teatro Comunale di Atri, a charming town in Abruzzo. In short, the physical effort combined with the passion of playing the perfect execution in a 'natural sound' become more and more esoteric. Jazz itself is pure emotion, made of shivering warm bass, the flashes of brass, the whispers of brushes on flat ahd hi-hat, bass drum and the thunder of bells sounding.
