John Prine Compilation on Cobalt Transparent Vinyl LP!
Part of Rhino's "Now Playing" Series!
In 1971 John Prine—mailman by day, singer-songwriter by night—was discovered in a Chicago folk club by Kris Kristofferson and signed to a record deal. These ten original recordings draw from Prine's albums from the 1970s, a time when he was often called "The New Dylan." While there is some influence in his simple three-chord songs, Prine's take on life and love is wholly unique—from serious to silly, from plain-spoken to profound.
