For the first time on vinyl, All I Want for Christmas Is a Real Good Tan is a certified platinum album from Kenny Chesney, the Country Music Hall of Fame electee who just finished up a residency at the Sphere in Las Vegas in the summer of 2025. Kenny is Billboard's No. 1 Country Artist of the 21st Century and the artist with the most No. 1 Country Airplay singles.

In addition to original tracks and tropical renditions of traditional Christmas music, the album features three covers. "Christmas in Dixie" was originally recorded by Alabama and features Alabama's lead singer, Randy Owen, as a duet partner. "Thank God for Kids" was previously recorded by The Oak Ridge Boys, while "Pretty Paper" was originally recorded by Willie Nelson.
