Audiophile DMM Vinyl LP!

Oblivion by Danish Hammond organist Kjeld Lauritsen surprises with a different take on the Hammond organ in jazz. The 2023 album was recorded live in Brorsons church in Copenhagen with Henrik Gunde on piano, Esben Eyermann on bass and Jesper Uno Kofoed on drums.
"Henrik Gunde has long been one of my favorite musicians," says Lauritsen. "Not only is he a god-gifted jazz pianist, but he is also one of the best and most spontaneous improvisers we have in Denmark. His music always has a lot of humor in it.
"As for the other two musicians, I have rarely heard such tasteful accompaniment as from Jesper Uno Kofoed behind the drums. Bassist Esben Eyermann lifts the ensemble with his rock-inspired approach to the music on both double bass and electric bass.
"Personally, I'm very happy with the project, as it gave me the opportunity to present a different approach to my playing on the Hammond Organ."
The album includes four original compositions by Lauritsen, in addition to Gabriel Faure's " Après un rêve," Leonard Bernstein's "Some Other Time" and two tangos by Astor Piazzolla. The release also contains a couple of bluesy tunes including the gospel-inspired tribute entitled "Canada." The entire album was recorded live in the church.
Oblivion was mastered using MQA (Master Quality Authenticated) technology. Digital-to-Analog conversion is accomplished with Brinkmann's Nyquist Mk II Streaming DAC. The MQA master file has been used to stream on TIDAL Masters and was directly fed through the Nyquist Mk II Streaming DAC into the cutting machine to produce the vinyl version.
Cut using DMM (Direct Metal Mastering) with ORIGINAL Neumann VMS 82 Cutting Lathe and SX 84 recorders, Oblivion was pressed at Press Play Vinyl, a Spanish boutique pressing plant. Excellence of the test pressing has been verified on a Balance turntable driving a full Brinkmann System.
About Kjeld Lauritsen: Kjeld Lauritsen is one of the few remaining jazz organ players, who plays the big Hammond Organ with rotating Leslie speakers and bass pedals. In his younger days he was a profile on the danish blues scene, which gave him a background like many of the original organ grinders.
About Brinkmann Audio: Founded in 1985 by Helmut Brinkmann, Brinkmann Audio is one of the few companies to design and manufacture every source and electronic component in the audio playback chain. All Brinkmann Audio components are handcrafted in Germany from German-made parts and subassemblies.
About MQA: Using pioneering scientific research into how people hear, the MQA team has created a technology that captures the sound of the original studio performance. The master MQA file is fully authenticated and is small enough to stream, while also being backward compatible, so you can play MQA music on any device. MQA's award-winning technology is licensed by labels, music services and hardware manufacturers worldwide and is certified by the RIAA. MQA is a UK-based private company.
