Madeline Bell is an American soul singer who became famous as a performer in the UK during the 1960s with the vocal group Bradford Singers. She has provided backing vocals on songs by Dusty Springfield, Serge Gainsbourg, the Rolling Stones, Joe Cocker, the Dave Clark Five, Elton John, Kiki Dee and Lesley Duncan, among others. Her first major solo hit was a cover version of Dee Dee Warwick's single "I'm Gonna Make You Love Me", which performed better on the US Billboard Hot 100 chart than the original. Before joining contemporary pop combo Blue Mink in 1969, Bell recorded a cover version of "Picture Me Gone", which remains a Northern Soul favorite to this day. She also recorded 1968's "What Am I Supposed To Do", a two-minute B-side co-written with future Led Zeppelin bassist John Paul Jones. Her version of Paul McCartney's "Step Inside Love" was a minor hit in the US in 1969.
On Blessed with Your Love, Madeline Bell delivers a dazzling mix of songs including Burt Bacharach's "The Look of Love", a Beach Boys Medley and more!
