Long Lost Album Revived On Double LP!
In 1985, Miles Davis moved from Columbia Records to Warner Bros. Records and started recording Rubberband. This album marked a radical departure for him, with funk and soul grooves, and was to include vocals by Al Jarreau and Chaka Khan. The album was subsequently shelved and Davis went on to record Tutu which was released in 1986. The tracks for Rubberband were untouched for over 30 years.
The album's original producers, Randy Hall and Zane Giles, along with Miles' nephew Vince Wilburn, Jr., chose to finish the album. The tracks slated to be recorded by Al Jarreau and Chaka Khan now feature vocals from Ledisi and Donny Hathaway's daughter Lalah Hathaway.
