This anthology album, released in 2001, compiles music from Minnie Riperton's career which spanned from 1970 to 1979. The singer with the angelic voice was taken from this earth at the age of 31 after battling breast cancer for 3 1/2 years. Aside from her various hits, Riperton was perhaps best-known for her vocal range, coloratura soprano, which allowed her to sing in the whistle register - her vocal range spanned five octaves.

Minnie Julia Riperton Rudolph, known professionally as Minnie Riperton, was an American singer-songwriter best known for her 1975 single "Lovin' You." She was married to songwriter and music producer Richard Rudolph from 1972 until her death in 1979.
