Rolling Stone The 100 Best Albums of 2023 - Rated 31/100!
Pitchfork The 50 Best Albums of 2023 - Rated 33/50!
Exclaim!'s 50 Best Albums of 2023 - Rated 23//50!

Dogsbody is the debut album by Brooklyn-based Model/Actriz (Cole Haden, Jack Wetmore, Ruben Radlauer, Aaron Shapiro). Inspired by the repetition of electronic music and propulsive sounds of post-punk, Dogsbody was named 'Best New Music' by Pitchfork and featured in Rolling Stone, Alt Press, SPIN, Dazed, The Needle Drop, and more. Having toured with Machine Girl, Liily, The Soft Moon, !!!, and Girl Pusher, Dogsbody is Model/Actriz's debut into a new lyrical and physical landscape.

The players' precision attack and [Cole] Haden's white-hot charisma help explain how a band so devoted to stirring up bad neurochemicals winds up offering such a tremendously good time. Any exploration of hedonism's rot and underbelly ought to contain a fair helping of hedonism itself, and Dogsbody is a party, no matter how panicky and wild-eyed....Haden has called the album 'a violent ode to the explosive joy of being alive,' and in moments like these, you feel the will toward communion rearing its head in even the darkest and ugliest of corners.
-Jayson Greene, Pitchfork, 8.2/10 (Best New Music)
Whether it's violently writhing in anger or simmering in seductive pleasure, Dogsbody is a ferocious debut album that blows up any preconceived notions about a post-punk band from New York. Frontman Cole Haden leads Model/Actriz with his shrieks and moans, inducing ultra-sexual lyrics to fervently fuse with the band's onslaught of caustic guitar tones and lurching disco beats. Fearlessly disobedient as an industrial noise cabaret, Dogsbody succeeds with an undeniable amount of swagger and theatrical intention.
-Chris Gee, Exclaim!
With Haden's starkly poetic lyrics and borderline crazed delivery comes a counter-position to the harsh music, creating a unique tension that no other group from the American post-no wave scene generated... The world needs more music like this, and by god, we have to pray the tension at the core of this wild fourpiece won't devour them.
-John Wohlmacher, Beats Per Minute
