1995 Live & Studio Recordings On Vinyl LP!
Listeners all over the world yearned to hear jazz pianist Monty Alexander from Kingston, Jamaica & Ernest Ranglin, the world's best guitarist in Jamaica, collaborate again after their work on the album Rass! (MPS label). The Rass! album played a major role in defining music that should be called "jazz reggae" - one that combines roots reggae and jazz.
Yard Movement is made up of a live recording at the Montreux Jazz Festival in June 1995, including a cover of Bob Marley, and studio recordings from July 1995, captured in a studio in Geneva that kept the live vibrations going. Monty Alexander's "Love Notes" (B2) is a masterpiece in the history of jazz reggae, with the most beautiful dialogue between Monty Alexander's piano and Ernest Ranglin's guitar.
