Paul Simon's third solo studio album, released in 1973, contains several style of music genres including gospel and Dixieland. The album received two Grammy nominations in 1974 including Best Male Pop Vocal performance and Album Of the Year.

With the hit single "Kodachrome" (reaching #2 on the Billboard charts), and the single "Loves Me Like A Rock", There Goes Rhymin' Simon became a bigger hit than his previous album reaching #2 on the Billboard 200 chart.
