Peder af Ugglas is a brilliant guitarist, or rather a musician. it is not his brilliance that is his main strength. Rather, it is his ability to find those tones, moods, expressions that go straight into the heart and soul. Peder af Ugglas's first solo album "Autumn Shuffle" released in 2005, received glowing reviews and became a selling point of success, especially in Germany. It was followed by "Beyond" in 2007, which was also hailed by critics. "Peder af Ugglas follows up 'Autumn Shuffle ' with yet another flawless record," wrote Magnus Eriksson.
Besides solo projects, Peder af Ugglas has for many years played with, among others Louise Hoffsten, Anders Widmark, Sara Isaksson and Stefan Sundström and produced albums for both Isaksson and Sundström. He has made music for a number of television shows, movies and commercials.
On this self-titled third solo album, the first for Rootsy.nu, Peder af Ugglas composed, arranged and played (almost) all the instruments himself. He was the recording engineer and producer as well. As a listener, it is a privilege to use the new album to enter into the musical universe of Peder af Ugglas. His ability to create music is truly limitless. His music on this self-titled album thrives upon the blues mixed with rock, jazz and folk. The music is sometimes beautiful and almost hypnotic and the next moment it's intense and demanding. It is more or less instrumental but still lives, breathes and communicates. You can choose to use the album as soft background music, but be prepared to be lured and spellbound by this magnificent album.
