It showcases various styles of playing with an emphasis on ambitious composition and you can trace homages to J Dilla, Fela Kuti, and Roy Hargrove throughout. Other musicians include Chris Dave, Larry Goldings, Andrew Bird, Ted Poor, and more. This is being released as part of Blake's imprint, New Deal Records, under Verve and is part of the Impulse 60! 2021 campaign.

Notes with Attachments is a strange record, but it is also welcoming thanks to an unhurried pace, colorful yet economical production, and restrained dynamics, all carried by the canny, warmly humorous musical instincts of its creators.
