The List features Rosanne's contemporary interpretations of songs from a list of essential Country songs passed on to her by her legendary father. The album features duet partners Bruce Springsteen, Elvis Costello, Rufus Wainwright, and Jeff Tweedy.

Never one to offer rote versions of cover songs, Rosanne finds her own reflective place in these beautifully crafted gems, and her producer/guitarist/husband John Leventhal assists by crafting a spare, haunting backdrop for Cash's sensitive vocals.
