Roxy Music Stranded Half-Speed Mastered 180g LP

Stranded gave Roxy Music their first UK Number 1 album and brought with it an undeniable presence that would eventually see Roxy Music's American audience take note. It was becoming all too clear that Roxy Music were indeed a band ahead of their time. Each Roxy Music album has been reissued with a fresh half-speed cut by Miles Showell at Abbey Road Studios, London. To reflect the audio, all eight of the Roxy Music studio albums have had their artwork revised and with a gloss-laminated finish, so that each album is not just a record - it's a piece of art.

Under the direction of Bryan Ferry, Roxy moved toward relatively straightforward territory, adding greater layers of piano and heavy guitars. Even without the washes of Eno's synthesizers, Roxy's music remains unsettling on occasion, yet in this new incarnation, they favor more measured material, whether it's the reflective 'A Song for Europe' or the shifting textures of 'Psalm.' Even the rockers, such as the surging 'Street Life' and the segmented 'Mother of Pearl,' are distinguished by subtle songwriting that emphasizes both Ferry's tortured glamour and Roxy's increasingly impressive grasp of sonic detail.
