Limited Edition 45rpm 7" Vinyl Single!
Prolific singer/songwriter Ryan Adams released a new track titled "Baby I Love You" on Valentine's Day, February 14, 2018. Now available on 7" vinyl for his fan base that eats vinyl for breakfast.
"'Baby I Love You' – which is not a cover of the Ronettes classic – is similar to Adams' lovelorn double LP Love Is Hell. But here, Adams' perspective on romance is slightly brighter. 'If I cry to you / Can you hold me still? / I don't want any more tears / I'm just broken from the years,' Adams sings. 'If I lie to you / Because the truth might sting / Is it better to know / What's worse than letting go?' 'Baby I Love You' also has hints of Tom Petty, a major influence on Adams. 'His songs, his guitar playing, his style and him just being Tom Petty were things that inspired me my entire life. This world needed him, and he did not disappoint,' Adams told Rolling Stone following Petty's death in 2017." - Rolling Stone
"In contrast to the heartbreak found in his previous work, the new single is a bright and poppy rock tune that perfectly fits the occasion, conjuring images of smiling couples pulling into drive-in movie theaters, sharing a malt and driving into the sunset in a cherry-red convertible." - Paste Magazine
"Ryan Adams came out with Prisoner, his last album, about a year ago. And today being Valentine's Day, he's followed it up with a quick little one-off: A swoony love song called 'Baby I Love You.' The track is full of chiming, Byrds-esque guitars and Phil Spector-style bells, and it's perfectly lovely." - Stereogum
