Numbered, Limited Edition 180g Vinyl Direct To Disc Mastered at Emil Berliner Studios!
Pressed at Pallas!
Samson Marzbani is a French pianist with Persian and Indian roots. Ever since his youth, improvisation has been at the center of his artistic activity.
With these Berlin Variations, the Samson Marzbani Ensemble presents a recording that cannot be classified in any of the conventional genres.
The artists improvise quite freely on purely acoustic, and – in a wider sense – classical instruments. The result is reminiscent of the music created by the band Can, or that of the early Pink Floyd, although even this attempt at some sort of classification does not do justice to all aspects of this special music.
"Every single note you will hear on this album was inspired as we performed. Improvisation is a jubilating journey into the unkown: Infinite discoveries come along the way in relation with the other musicians. Our hands, instruments and voices lead to emotions beyond what we could imagine before playing. And, the experience of Direct to Disc Recording took our improvisional journey to another level...Bon voyage!" - Samson Marzbani
