Jose Serebrier, a protege of Antal Dorati and Leopold Stokowski, is known for his mastery of the colorful, virtuoso scores of the Russian school.
Serebrier Conducts Serebrier is the first CD devoted entirely to his own prize-winning compositions. The Partita (Symphony No.2), a large four-movement work with colorful Latin flavors, here receives its first complete recording, and the program otherwise presents WORLD PREMEIRES. The Fantasia is a exciting workout for strings, and Winterreise (for full orchestra) is a new composition, written especially for this release.
The well-known British violinist Gonzalo Acosta is the foremost exponent of Serebrier's youthful Sonata for violin solo, and gives a memorable performance for its first recording.

Selections: Partita; Fantasia for Strings; Winterreise; Sonata for Solo Violin (Gonzalo Acosta, violin).
