Silke Aichhorn is one of the most requested and versatile harpists of her generation, performing as a soloist as well as in chamber formations. The public and critics alike widely applaud her concerts - and she is considered to be one of the few harpists who is successful in presenting the harp as solo instrument.

Aichhorn studied at the well-known Lausanne Conservatory, Switzerland, where she received first prize with honours, and at the university Cologne, Germany. In addition she has won numerous cultural awards and prices in international competitions.

Thanks to her vast repertoire and experience in various chamber formations, she is regularly invited at internatinoal music festivals and as soloist with prestigious orchestras such as the Wurttembergisches Kammerorchestre Heilbronn, the Philharmonisches Orchester Halle, the Orchestre de Chambre de Laussanne, the Munchner Symphoniker, and the SWR-Rundfunkorchestre Kaiserlautern.
