Sophomore Album Remastered On 180g Vinyl LP!
Includes The Hits "Vasoline", "Interstate Love Song" & "Big Empty"!
The second album for Stone Temple Pilots was released in 1994 and achieved great success debuting at #1 on the Billboard 200 chart - remaining there for three weeks. The album produced several successful singles including "Vasoline", "Interstate Love Song" and "Big Empty".
The group shifted away from the grunge-oriented sound of their debut on their sophomore effort to a more alternative rock style with psychedelic and southern rock influences.
Purple was ranked number 438 in Rock Hard magazine's book "The 500 Greatest Rock & Metal Albums of All Time" in 2005.
This set includes a newly remastered version of the original studio album on vinyl.
'Big Empty' is ominous and foreboding, yet remains anthemic, a perfect encapsulation of mainstream alienation that is surpassed only by 'Interstate Love Song,' a concise epic as alluring as the open highway... and those singles are proof positive that STP was the best straight-ahead rock singles outfit of their time.
