So you want detail?

Really pleasantly surprised by the amount of detail and control that this cartridge displays. I had read the reviews before I decided on this as an upgrade to the Ortofon Red I had in my system. Pro-Ject RPM4, Custom Built phono pre and Krell amplification. While I already had plenty of definition, or so I thought, from the Ortofon I wanted more detail, soundstage and midrange separation. This cartridge seemed like a good direction to go. I am very pleased so far with the result. After a little setup I was struck immediately by the soundstage particularly in the upper mid range, dynamics are every bit as good with the added benefit of a little more control in the low end. For $300 this is an excellent step up in the Moving Magnet world. I rate this 5 stars based on its value for the investment. Is this the best cartridge you could ever buy? No. Does it deliver far beyond what you are expecting for the investment, most certainly yes.
