1965 Album Features "Help Me, Rhonda" and "California Girls!"
Summer Days features another Wilson world-beater production, "California Girls," and the band's second No. 1 single, "Help Me, Rhonda." Ever pressured by commercial concerns, Wilson and the band created what was in essence the true follow-up to the All Summer Long album. Still, there's a level of musical sophistication to tracks such as "Salt Lake City," the Phil Spector tribute "Then I Kissed Her," "Summer Means New Love," and "Let Him Run Wild."
Summer Days (And Summer Nights) hit number 2 in the U.S. during a chart stay of 33 weeks. After the release of Today! with its more sophisticated style of music, the label pushed for more "Beach Boys-type music" for the next release. The band had been stereotyped as a 'fun in the sun' band singing about the beach and girls. While on the surface Summer Days (And Summer Nights) appeared to be a throwback to the carefree ideals of All Summer Long, Wilson had carefully woven intricate music tracks beneath the lighthearted words of "Amusement Park USA" and "Salt Lake City." He also devised a successful instrumental with strings with "Summer Means New Love" and composed a symphonic intro to their US #3 hit single "California Girls."
SHM-SACD (Super High Material SACD) is the ultimate Super Audio CD that utilizes the materials and technologies that were developed for the SHM-CD to further enhance the audio-resolution. These discs are made with polycarbonate developed for the screen of the liquid crystal display. As it has a higher transparency, players can read the signal more faithfully. Also, it excels in fluidity, which enables you to cast a more accurate pit. What works wonders for a low resolution format such as CD should offer even greater sonic improvements in a real high resolution format such as SACD.
