"a languid and blissful work - one that will richly reward future listens" - "5 Stars" - James McMahon, NME
"Sporting a sophisticated sonic palette and recurring musical themes, the album has more continuity and is more nuanced than previous Tool albums. Its richly layered tracks are informed by progressive metal and psychedelia ranging from crunchy to trippy, as Adam Jones dishes a host of guitar textures and Danny Carey contributes Middle Eastern drumming patterns. The lyrics find Keenan admitting his weaknesses and struggling to remain consequential in a venomous world while rejecting the darkness of fear. It's an elegy for our troubled times.
