Legendary Punk Band's 4th Studio Album Remastered on Vinyl LP!

Formed in 1977, X quickly established themselves as one of the best bands in the first wave of LA's flourishing punk scene, becoming legendary leaders of a punk generation. Featuring vocalist Exene Cervenka, vocalist/bassist John Doe, guitarist Billy Zoom, and drummer DJ Bonebrake, their debut 45 was released on the seminal Dangerhouse label in 1978, followed by seven studio albums released from 1980-1993. Their fourth studio album, More Fun In The New World, was released in September 1983 by Elektra Records. It was the last X album produced by former Doors keyboardist Ray Manzarek.

Over the years, X has released several critically acclaimed albums, topped the musical charts with regularity and performed their iconic hits on top television shows such as Letterman and American Bandstand. In 2017, the band celebrated their 40th anniversary in music with a Grammy Museum exhibit opening, a Proclamation from the City of Los Angeles and being honored at a Los Angeles Dodgers game, where Exene threw out the first pitch and John Doe sang the National Anthem. The band continues to tour with the original line-up.

"Coming off their 1982 masterpiece Under the Big Black Sun, X offered their follow-up More Fun in the New World one year later. While its predecessor won the band a slew of new fans, it didn't serve as the major breakthrough that it so deservedly should have. Rightfully, they didn't fool with their already winning formula; they issued another solid set of songs produced, again, by Ray Manzarek. The anthemic album opener 'The New World' is still powerful years later, as is the absolutely beautiful ballad 'I Must Not Think Bad Thoughts,' which perfectly captures the paranoid feeling of Reagan's America in the '80s. X achieved new rough and rocking heights with the vicious 'Devil Doll,' 'Painting the Town Blue,' and 'Make the Music Go Bang,' while returning once again to their retro '50s roots with 'Poor Girl.' More Fun in the New World would prove to be Manzarek's final production credit with X, who would hook up with renowned heavy metal veteran Michael Wagener for their next release two years later, Ain't Love Grand!" - AllMusic
