Pressed on 180-gram vinyl and mastered at half-speed, Symphonic Live features Yes performing with the European Festival Orchestra in November of 2001 in Amsterdam. The near half-hour long epic "Ritual (Nous Sommes du Soleil)," is featured on vinyl for the first time.

Symphonic Live features seven sides of music, along with an etching on the B-side of LP4. Backed by a full symphony orchestra, lead guitarist Steve Howe, bassist Chris Squire, drummer Alan White and vocalist Jon Anderson, the band recreated the dramatic intensity of their 2001 album Magnification (the first Yes album with no keyboards and the last Yes album with Anderson).
