Rolling Stone 500 Greatest Albums of All Time - Rated 424/500!

We’ve seen the future of Rock n’ Roll and it’s Beck! O-De-Lay follows up the magnificent Mellow Gold and confirms Beck’s genius of combining a zillion different styles with his own highly idiosyncratic take on things. In other words O-De-Lay is magnificent! Also there’s mucho samples this time around with cuts from James Brown, Mantronix, Pretty Purdie, Joe Thomas and even Bob Dylan. Beck is definitely a well-rounded typa guy. Also this is one of the few occasions when things actually went perfectly to plan and the album managed to spawn no less than four hit singles, namely Devil’s Haircut, Where It’s At, Jack Ass and the superb The New Pollution. The album is on the original Bong Load label and contains a nice freaky ‘lil ole poster with all the info on

Selections: Devil’s Haircut, Hotwax, Lord Only Knows, The New Pollution, Derelict, Novocaine, Jack-Ass, Where It’s At, Minus, Sissyneck, Readymade, High 5 (Rock the Catskills), Ramshackle.
