15 years in the making, Big Blue Ball is an album of all-star international collaborations which grew from recording sessions at Peter Gabriel's Real World Studios in the early 1990's. An all-star cast took part in writing songs, making music and being part of the powerful sense of community that made the so-called Recording Weeks so creative and fruitful.

The album features Peter Gabriel, Karl Wallinger, Joseph Arthur, Sinead O’Connor, Papa Wemba, Natacha Atlas, Holmes Brothers, Hukwe Zawose and more. Produced by Gabriel, Wallinger (World Party) and Stephen Hague (Pet Shop Boys, New Order).

Gabriel takes the lead vocals on several tracks on the album. A mix of western, African, and Asian musicians are also included.

The LP was mastered and cut by Chris Bellman at Bernie Grundman Mastering using Classic's "All Tube" cutting system.
