Trailblazing London Jazz Duo's Third Studio Album on 180g Vinyl LP.
Pressed in Japan with OBI Strip!

Feeding the Machine is the third studio album by semi-free jazz duo Binker and Moses. The release marks the band's first studio record since their widely acclaimed 2017 album, Journey to the Mountain of Forever, and its subsequent live albums, Alive in the East? and Escape the Flames. The album yet again cements Binker and Moses' status as being at the vanguard of London's jazz and jazz-adjacent music scene.

The pair have won critical praise and a loyal fanbase through their previous releases and electric live performances, having been described as "the big breakout stars of the London jazz scene" by The Guardian and "leaders of London's jazz revolution" by The Evening Standard. Collectively, their catalogue has earned them a string of awards including the 2015 MOBO Award for Best Jazz Act, a Parliamentary Jazz Award, and two Jazz FM Awards, not to mention a Mercury nomination for Moses Boyd's solo album Dark Matter and a Jazz Instrumentalist of the Year Award for Binker Golding's 2019 quartet release Abstractions of Reality Past & Incredible Feathers. Now, five years after their last full-fledged release, Binker and Moses are prepared to go against the grain again with this new material.

Recorded at Peter Gabriel's Real World Studios by legendary, GRAMMY-winning producer Hugh Padgham, the album features honorary third member Max Luthert on tape loops and electronics, moving their sound into an entirely new dimension that crosses into ambient, minimalism and experimental electronic territories, whilst also nodding to the duo's roots in riff-heavy free jazz.

With the use of modular synths and sampling, traditional melody and song structures are left behind as the musicians are pushed creatively to respond and in turn, "feed the machine."

Feeding the Machine is a giant leap forward. The focus on deeply intuitive, sophisticated improvisation integrated with Luthert's instinctive, tasteful electronics is welcoming, adventurous, and abundantly creative.
