1976 Compilation on 180g Black Vinyl 2LP!
Original Lineup of Ozzy, Tony, Geezer & Bill!
Classic Tracks from Their First 6 Albums!

When Black Sabbath signed with NEMS, the label which would release their 1975 album Sabotage in the UK and Europe, NEMS acquired the band's back catalogue and wasted little time compiling We Sold Our Soul for Rock 'N' Roll. Although the band had six studio albums to its name at this point, this compilation drew heavily on the first four albums: Black Sabbath, Paranoid, Master of Reality and Volume 4.

We Sold Our Soul for Rock 'n' Roll is a good collection of many — but not all — of Black Sabbath's best tracks from the Ozzy Osbourne era, drawing about half of its material from the group's first two albums, Black Sabbath and Paranoid. That makes it ideal for the fan who only wants one Black Sabbath disc... there's no quibbling with what is here.
-Steve Huey, AllMusic
...(those) looking for an easy way into Black Sabbath's diabolical cosmology can't go wrong with the 1976 best-of We Sold Our Soul for Rock 'n' Roll, which is all a weekend blasphemer could ever need...
-Rolling Stone
