"Back in the summer of 1999 I first heard Eric Bibbs album 'Spirit & The Blues', released on Opus 3 Records, and it totally and utterly changed the way I look upon and perform music. Everything I did turned acoustic and Ive stayed in the acoustic blues realm ever since. Id been singing the blues for a long time in electric settings and for me something illusive was missing. When I listened and searched back through the years I found my musical home in the old recordings from the late 1920s and early 30s. The heart of my music is the genuine tone of resonator guitars, I just love the mechanically amplified sound. Being a recording artist on the Opus 3 Records label is something Im extremely happy, thankful and proud about. From the first time Jan-Eric Persson and I met to discuss this album we got along really well. And as we both are profoundly interested in the history of the music and the various instruments that youll hear on this record, therell be a lot of info and photos showing guitars in this booklet. Ive been collecting and repairing old instruments for many years and to be able to bring some of them to the studio and let them be heard is a good feeling for me. When I play an old instrument for the first time I use to think about who played it the last time and when was it.. Everytime I discover a vintage instrument it thrills me to find out how much built in 'Mojo' it has. I experience that the years and 'mileage' leave traces from the past in tone and feel." - Bottleneck John
"[W]hen it comes to amazing sounding and performed Acoustic Blues, 'All Around Man', was certainly the best I have heard, so far, for 2013, if not the best I have heard in recent memory... The CD case, was the most unique and well built one I have ever received, a work of art in itself, and a bit of foreshadowing to the care and attention that was put into all aspects of creating the CD that the case so wonderfully protected... 5*****, for sure, for 'All Around Man'. An album I really wished I had a higher rating system for. This is an album that will instantly please lovers of Acoustic Blues. Brilliantly done from beginning to end." - Blues Underground Network
