As Clearaudio continue to advance standards in our range of moving coil (MC) cartridges, we felt it was equally time to turn our attention to the moving magnet (MM) range and to make a new statement.

From the concept V2 to the Maestro V2, our MM cartridges have long been at the forefront of the moving magnet field and have proved popular among music lovers for their distinctive high quality.

The Charisma V2 is the new flagship of the Clearaudio MM cartridge range.

Only the finest materials qualified for inclusion, including the same diamond-coated Boron cantilever found in our world-leading Goldfinger Statement MC cartridge.

The use of highly efficient magnets gives the dynamic Charisma V2 an almost record-breaking output, easily enough to amply drive less sensitive phono stages. The double-polished diamond stylus is mounted on the cantilever with matchless precision, ensuring excellent frequency response and the highest channel separation.

The cartridge body is made from the finest ebony wood and is set with a precious metal-bearing inlay.

The result? A quality of sound that, until now, seemed unachievable rom MM cartridges. Utterly charismatic.

Excellent MM

Very nice sounding cart. Because of swapping out my pre-amp, I needed something with higher output. This is a fantastic MM cart. I have a variety of MC (Air tight, clear audio, and Shelter) and a Soundsmith moving iron cart. This a $2200 MM, and it really needs to be compared with $2200 cartridges. And with that in mind, I’d put it up against anything in its price range. In particular, it does have a nice kick-*ss bass.

Best MM Cartridge I have owned

Have been into high end stereo for 50 years. Have owned so many cartridges can’t remember them all both MM and MC. Starting with Shure M44 to Koetsu and Benz MC’s. The Charisma being the best MM I have had the pleasure to own. Very dynamic, excellent tuneful bass, great midrange and extended detailed highs without being too bright or hard. Maybe not quite the detail of the most expensive MC’s but have found background voices and instruments on my LP’s I never noticed before. Highly recommended.

Better than a Moving Coil?

In certain ways. This is the most dynamic cartridge I have every used. If you want bass drums to kick you in the stomach this is the cartridge to have. Super tracking. The overall sound is darker than most MC cartridges with slightly less detail. If you only listen to classical I would stay with your moving coil. Ideally one would have two tonearms, one with your favorite MC and the other with this.
