Country Joe (Joseph Allen) McDonald is an American musician from the 60s' psychedelic rock group Country Joe and the Fish.
Since the breakup of his group in 1971, McDonald continued to convey his political and ecological views through his music.
This 1976 album, which includes the anthemic tune "Save the Whales!", reflected an increase in McDonald's ecological commitment, and features former Fish Bruce Barthol and ex-Instant Action Jug Band member Phil Marsh.
