Following their debut album, Speak and Spell, Vince Clarke left the band. Martin Gore's attempts to rid the band of the sugary attitude on their second album, "A Broken Frame", includes titles like My Secret Garden and Leave in Silence. Scattered throughout are plenty of poppy synths and the 1982 number one hit "See You" can be found as well with it's catchy synths and lyrics.
