Elvis Aaron Presley was born during The Great Depression into a poor family in Mississippi. they moved to Memphis during the early fifties, and as a struggling young truck driver, he cut some demos at Sun Studios as a gift for his beloved mother Gladys. These initial songs, of which he had only paid a few dollars to record, would become the catalyst that would kick-start the beginning of a soon to be worldwide superstar unlike the world has ever known.
The folks at RCA Victor knew that this young fellow named Elvis was destined for superstardom. They quickly bought out hsi contract and signed the legend to a long term deal, forever etching "The King of Rock and Roll" trademark to his name.
In 1973, after a plethora of chart topping albums and a bevy of number one singles, Elvis Presley returned to his "1968 Comeback" mode and recorded his masterwork Raised On Rock/For Ol' Times Sake. More incredible fame followed The King as more top charting hit singles like Raised On rock soon became one of his strongest tunes in years, and made this LP a very important milestone in his legendary career.
Filled with more winners than in a Las Vegas slot machine, Raised On Rock / For Ol' Times Sake contains several smashes including the Jimmy Reed blues classic Just A Little Bit, the soulful Memphis groovers Three Corn Patches, Find Out What's Happening, and of course the great ballad " Are You Sincere.
In honor of his birthday, the Man, the Music, the Legend, the King of Rock and Roll, Friday Music proudly released the first time 180g Audiophile Clear Vinyl release of the RCA Victor classic Raised on Rock / For Ol' Times Sake by Elvis Presley.
As another classic installment in the Friday Music Elvis Presley audiophile vinyl series, this masterwork is presented in all its true stereophonic hi-fi glory. Raised On Rock / For Ol' Times Sake is mastered impeccably by Joe Reagoso at Friday Music Studios and pressed at R.T.I. on clear vinyl.
This exclusive presentation also includes the first time ever gatefold artwork which includes the groundbreaking original LP cover elements as well as rare 45 sleeve artwork from this historic Elvis Presley era.
