Live Recording Collects Two Performances in the UK!

Live! is a live album by English rock band Free. It was released by Island Records to commemorate the band, who had broken up in April 1971. Possibly because of the publicity caused by their breakup (which had also earned them a successful parting single "My Brother Jake" that same month) the album was a hit, reaching #4 in the UK album charts.

The album was recorded from gigs played in the UK locations of Sunderland and Croydon, both places where Free had substantial followings, in January and September 1970. Engineer Andy Johns could only use two tracks from the Sunderland gig ("The Hunter" and "All Right Now"), but used crowd noise from it frequently to create seamless links between tracks. Many of the tracks on the album are from their debut Tons of Sobs, as that album's rock-oriented ethos and low production values made its material ideal for performing live.

"Although Free made excellent studio records, Free "Live" is perhaps the best way to experience the band in all its glory... Superbly recorded by Andy Johns, this is one of the greatest live albums of the 1970s." -Matthew Greenwald, allmusic.com

SHM-SACD (Super High Material SACD) is the ultimate Super Audio CD that utilizes the materials and technologies that were developed for the SHM-CD to further enhance the audio-resolution. These discs are made with polycarbonate developed for the screen of the liquid crystal display. As it has a higher transparency, players can read the signal more faithfully. Also, it excels in fluidity, which enables you to cast a more accurate pit. What works wonders for a low resolution format such as CD should offer even greater sonic improvements in a real high resolution format such as SACD.

Housed in a 5 1/2" x 5 1/2" x 1/2" hinged-lid box which includes inside a full color mini insert LP sleeve and booklet with Japanese lyrics. The obi surrounding the album replicates the one included in the Japanese first pressing LP.

Features:
• Super High Material Super Audio CD
• SHM-SACD Stereo SACD Layer
• Single-Layer Stereo SHM-SACD, to secure enough reflectance and not to compress DSD file.
• Label of the disc is printed with a special green ink called 'Onsho Shiyou,' which minimizes diffuse reflection.
• Carefully selected master audio is used, from existing DSD files to newly converted from analog tapes.
• This Single-Layer SHM-SACD can only be played on a Super Audio CD Player! It will NOT play on conventional CD Players!

Selections:
1. All Right Now
2. I'm A Mover
3. Be My Friend
4. Fire and Water
5. Ride on a Pony
6. Mr. Big
7. The Hunter
8. Get Where I Belong
