Gerd Zacher, born in 1929, has premiered countless works for organ, many of which were also dedicated to him, by Allende-Blin, Cage, Englert, Herchet, Kagel, Ligeti, Otte, Schnebel, Yun and others. He has undertaken numerous concert tours in Europe and abroad and has made several recordings. His own choral and organ works have helped to increase his renown. Through seminars and published texts on the subject, he has left a lasting influence on the performance of Bach's organ music.
