A former member of the TAS List and a worthy member of any list; Farewell Angelina is perhaps Joan Baez's finest LP.

The most recognized female folk singer of our time had by her 5th album already mastered the art of traditional folk material and had begun her exploration of the new, more topical material. For this, her 6th LP, she decided to concentrate on material by her close friend Bob Dylan. (Dylan songs had entered her live repertoire and were show up from on her albums.) Carefully combining Dylan songs with old-time classics the album features "A Hard Rain's Gonna Fall" and a definitive reading of "It's All Over Now Baby Blue". Also included is Donovan's "Colours". Farewell Angelina is one of those indispensable classics that everybody should own.
