36 years later, John Fogerty releases the conceptual follow-up to The Blue Ridge Rangers, which was the first release for him following his departure from Creedence Clearwater Revival. "...Rides Again" consists of 12 songs that illustrate the influence country and roots music have had on Fogerty's songwriting.

The new album features an all-star group of musicians including Buddy Miller, Jay Bellerose, Kenny Aronoff, Greg Leisz, Jason Mowery, Herb Pedersen, Jodie Kennedy, Oren Waters, Chris Chaney, Dennis Crouch and Hunter Perrin. Bruce Springsteen also joined in for the Everly Brothers tune "When Will I Be Loved" and Don Henley and Timothy B. Schmit contributed to the cover of Rick Nelson's "Garden Party".

The album was mostly recorded at Berkeley Street Studios in Santa Monica, CA with Bob Clearmountain mixing.
