Vivante strikes again with another phenomenal release. This is about as close as it gets to being at the session with John, Eric and the band. Another 180 gram release that is nothing short of astounding! As one of the seminal blues recordings from the '60s, Bluesbreakers features the precocious talents of Eric Clapton and the solid contributions of drummer Hugh Flint and bass player John McVie. Mayall contrived at least 15 different Bluesbreakers lineups, but it was this album that produced commercial success (it was a Top Ten seller in the UK) and which established Eric Clapton (heard here in his post-Yardbirds and pe-Cream period) as the greatest blues guitarist of his generation. A superb blend of blues covers and Mayall originals.
