Rock band Night formed in Los Angeles in 1978 comprised of veteran British-based session musicians Chris Thompson (Manfred Mann's Earth Band), Stevie Lange, Nicky Hopkins and Rick Marotta. The group's self-titled 1979 debut album yielded two US Top 40 hits: "Hot Summer Nights" (a cover of a minor Walter Egan hit) and "If You Remember Me" (recorded as the theme song for the film, 'The Champ').
