Sir Neville Marriner and the Academy of St. Martin-In-The-Fields perform compositional works mostly by Mozart for this original soundtrack recording in this Deluxe Collectors Edition 180g Vinyl 3LP Box Set.

Brothers Max and Sol Weiss started Fantasy Records from their plastic molding business in 1949, and the label was historically a multi-genre, eclectic home for a diverse roster of artists local to the San Francisco bay area, and music ranging from rock to funk to jazz to soundtracks. Fantasy began hitting platinum many times over with Creedence Clearwater Revival in the late 1960s and enjoyed tremendous success due to iconic albums from Vince Guaraldi Trio (A Charlie Brown Christmas), Tony Bennett (The Tony Bennett/Bill Evans Album), and many others, as well as soundtracks from Academy Award-winning films One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest, Amadeus, and The English Patient.

Amadeus was a 1984 film directed by Milos Forman and written by Peter Shaffer. Set in Vienna, Austria in the latter half of the 18th century, the film tells a story of Mozart whose genius is recognized by composer Antonio Salieri only to be thwarted out of pride and envy. Film composer John Strauss (known for composing "Car 54") won a Grammy in 1984 for producing the soundtrack to the film.
