Entertainment Weekly wrote: 'Hawkins crafts a passionate yet plainspoken combination of soul, blues, and country music in a croak that crosses Sam Cooke with Otis Redding.' The Next Hundred Years is the last recording Ted Hawkins made before passing away in January of 1995. While he typically performed with an acoustic guitar backing him, here he is backed by a selection of seasoned studio musicians such as Jim Keltner.
Included on this Mobile Fidelity version is the previously unreleased bonus track Corrina, Corrina originally recorded for the Whoopi Goldberg movie of the same name.
