'Hawkins first album for DGC Records is a beautiful, understated record that easily ranks with his finest works.' So said Stephen Thomas Erlewine in the All Music Guide To Rock on the recording he awarded a 4-diamond rating.

Ted Hawkins was a street musician with a style that combined blues and gospel mixed with contemporary soul. Entertainment Weekly wrote: 'Hawkins crafts a passionate yet plainspoken combination of soul, blues, and country music in a croak that crosses Sam Cooke with Otis Redding.' The Next Hundred Years is the last recording Ted Hawkins made before passing away in January of 1995. While he typically performed with an acoustic guitar backing him, here he is backed by a selection of seasoned studio musicians such as Jim Keltner.

Included on this Mobile Fidelity version is the previously unreleased bonus track Corrina, Corrina originally recorded for the Whoopi Goldberg movie of the same name. Other songs include John Fogerty's Long As I Can See The Light, Biloxi by Jesse Winchester and the Webb Pierce hit, There Stands The Glass.

2. Big Things

4. Biloxi
