Boy they could really churn albums out in those days! The Notorious Byrd Brothers was the Byrds fifth album in just 3 years but we kick off our Byrds reissues with this record cos many consider this to be their finest effort. And theyre not far wrong. Notorious is perfectly sequenced from beginning to end and is probably their most cohesive album release ever. Also they lost David Crosby after this album so this was the last chance to catch the original line-up. Contains the brilliant Goin Back and a bunch of other gems. A bigger hit in the UK (No.12 April 68) than the U.S. first time around. A collectors classic that should be on everyones shelves!
